Chief Recreation Therapist - Broome

This Chief Recreation Therapist performs at a supervisory level. They are charged with developing, implementing, directing, and evaluating the Broome DDSOO recreation program. They are responsible for recreation program goal-setting as well as policy development, and resource acquisition and utilization. They oversee rec therapy staff and paraprofessional recreation workers in service delivery.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
o May perform the duties of lower level recreation therapists. o Develops and implements DDSOO-wide recreation therapy services. o Develop, implement, and evaluate staff performance, monitor time and attendance, develop departmental policies and procedures for the provision of recreation services. o Prepare and manage creation department budgets, and maintain departmental resources including space, equipment, and supplies. o Complete reports to document recreation department activities. o Evaluate advances in recreation therapy to assess applicability into department operations. o Represent the recreation department at meetings and on committees as assigned. o Conduct programmatic evaluations for the overall recreation program. o Develop quality assurance policies and procedures to confirm and maintain agency standards related to Recreation Therapy. o Perform other duties as assigned. o Travel is required within the six-county catchment area and occasionally outside the area for administrative meetings and training opportunities. Other duties as assigned including on-call assignments. Participation in Administrator on Call (AOC) system is required.

Salary Range: From $73284 to $92693 Annually
Minimum Qualification
Candidates must be currently in title, reachable on the Civil Service Eligible List for this title, or eligible for transfer. Provisional appointment may be considered. To be eligible for provisional appointment, candidates must meet the minimum qualifications for examination and appointment. To be qualified for examination and appointment, candidates must be a qualified employee of New York State and have had one year of permanent competitive or 55-b or 55-c service as a Head Recreation Therapist or two years of permanent competitive or 55-b or 55-c service as a Senior Recreation Therapist.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
