POSITION SUMMARY To provide security coverage at the lobby reception desk, screening all visitors and providing general assistance to YWCA visitors, staff and class participants.
Responsibilities include monitoring the ADT Security Alarm Panel, the Fire Alarm Panel and assisting with health and safety emergencies.
Qualifications:
Minimum:
High School Diploma or GED.
Some college in the field of human services preferred.
Experience in a residential setting is a plus for the applicant.
Valid Driver's License required.
Good work history regarding dependability, attendance and performance of duties Ability to model socially desirable behaviors to residents Effective oral and written communication skills Possess conflict resolution skills and ability to direct residents in daily living skills Duties:
Screen access to the building, checking employee and client badges.
Greet all visitors and staff and have them sign in and out on the logbook.
Monitor traffic of residents coming and going.
Perform security rounds, making sure building exits and stairwell doors are locked.
This also includes office doors and the pool entrance.
Check that all windows and exit doors in the first floor daycare classes are secured.
Monitor security system, alerting staff to unscheduled breach in building door alarms and also responsible for the distribution of facility keys Answer the telephone switchboard; take messages, direct calls and page over the intercom.
Receive and record rental or tuition payments, and sort agency mail, separating business from residential.
Assist with bulk mailing preparation and other office duties as assigned Uphold housing policies, curfews and respond to health/safety issues such as fire alarms, elevator malfunctions or medical emergencies Report any difficulties involving residents to the on call person, program case manager or the Residential Director Stay awake and alert at all times, no sleeping on the job Do wake-up calls Keep case notes as needed Job Type:

Being fully vaccinated means that an individual is at least two weeks past their final dose of an authorized COVID-19 vaccine regimen.
In order to be qualified for employment at the YWCA of Binghamton, final candidates must comply with the vaccination requirement or receive an approved medical exemption.
