This position is directly responsible for; The completion of annual fore safety and property maintenance inspections for every building in the custody of the opted-out local governments and under the custody of the state; Reviewing of building permit applications and plan reviews; Inspection of construction work being completed under an issued building permit; Answering questions and providing technical assistance to the opted-out local governments and regulated parties; Investigation of complaints associated with buildings in the custody of the state (within the opted-out local government); Performing inspections associated with the Division's regulatory responsibility to perform oversight and ensuring that the local governments who are administering and enforcing the Uniform Code are fulfilling the obligation in accordance with the regulations; Perform inspections associated with the Division's responsibility to manage the Disaster and Emergency Response support statewide.

Salary Range:
From $60069 to $60069 Annually
Minimum Qualification
Appointment to this position requires a person to be certified as a Code Enforcement Official pursuant to Title 19 NYCRR, Part 434 or Part 1208 and has not let such certification be classified as inactive pursuant to 19 NYCRR 1208-3.5(a) and also have six years full-time experience in any combination of:
Either the enforcement, inspection, development, or teaching of building or fire codes; Or the design of buildings in a position such as a specifications writer, draftsperson, architect, or engineer. Substitution:
In addition to the current certification as a Code Enforcement Official as stated above, a degree in architectural engineering, architecture, civil engineering, construction technology, electrical engineering, fire protection engineering, fire protection technology, or mechanical engineering may be substituted for applicable experience, as follows:
two years for an associate's degree, and four years for a bachelor's degree.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
